Q & A
- Hello, I received an email that I need to prove the eligibility of Ketab because we do not qualify financially; however, I do believe that we qualify through in-kind donations, as I volunteer my service to our program. How can I prove that our organization qualifies for the financial aspect in regards to the in-kind donations? Best, Ahzin PhD
- According to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), non-profit's in-kind gifts should be captured and reported in financial records through financial statements, audit documentation or a separate revenue account on its functional expense account, to name a few. Any documentation to verify the in-kind is required.
- We are preparing our proposal. We do not have our annual operating budget yet. Do we need to upload it before April 24th?
- The financial upload required for the pre-application, which is due April 24 by 5:00 p.m., is either the most recent annual reviewed financial statement, compiled financial statement or Internal Revenue Service form 990. The submission of the annual operating budget is a part of the application due May 1 by 5:00 p.m.
- Would you require a compilation report with the statements from my CPA or would my internal financial statements be sufficient.
- Yes, the compilation report with the statements needs to be prepared by your CPA.
- Do we need to submit 2 financial statements, one with in-kind and another w/o in kind?
- For the PreApplication, the upload of either the most recent annual reviewed financial statement, compiled financial statement or Internal Revenue Service form 990 is required. In the Application, under Financial Information, In-Kind Supporting Documents, the applicant must upload documentation of the sources of in-kind services or contributions, with a description of each including the purpose and annual value, if applicable.
- For 2021, we filed a 990N. For 2022 we are doing a 990. Please let me know if that will qualify us.
- The document uploaded needs to show the organizations' financials for us to determine the agencies' operating budget with in-kind and without. A 990 without financial information will not be accepted; other accepted documents include: Audited financial statements, reviewed financial statements or compiled financial statements. As noted on page 2 of the PDF copy of the RFP, "If submitting form 990, it must include a dollar amount".
- What type of documentation do you need to show in-kind?
- The document uploaded needs to show the organizations' financials for us to determine the agencies' operating budget with in-kind and without. The document needs to be created or reviewed by an accountant or CPA. i.e. Audited financial statements, reviewed financial statements, compiled financial statements or 990. A 990 without financial information will not be accepted.
- Can we use 990N?
- The document uploaded needs to show the organizations' financials for us to determine the agencies' operating budget with in-kind and without. The document needs to be created or reviewed by an accountant or CPA. i.e. Audited financial statements, reviewed financial statements, compiled financial statements or 990. A 990 without financial information will not be accepted.
- Will a 990 N be accepted?
- The document uploaded needs to show the organizations' financials for us to determine the agencies' operating budget with in-kind and without. The document needs to be created or reviewed by an accountant or CPA. i.e. Audited financial statements, reviewed financial statements, compiled financial statements or 990. A 990 without financial information will not be accepted.
- I am the executive director of a small non-profit. The opportunity to apply for the Small CBO Capacity Building Grant was just recently brought to my attention. I tried to complete the pre-application as required and the date said it closed 4/24/23. I missed the pre-application by a few hours. This was very disappointing as the 'Pre-application' deadline was never listed as a 'tentative due date' on your website grant page. I totally understand that a deadline is important, however the actual grant due date is May 1st. This would be a great opportunity for our non-profit to help grow our mission to help children with disabilities in our community. Is there any way the pre-application can be extended so that we and other non-profits can have an opportunity to be approved to complete a full application by May 1st?
- The deadline for the pre-application was April 24, 2023, at 5:00pm. Pre-applications are no longer accepted. The Pre-Application Deadline has been and is posted on the Trust Central RFP 2023-11 Small Community-Based Organizations (CBO) grant page under Timeline and communicated in the posted Bidders' Conference.
- I can't find where I can start the pre-application. Where can I do that?
- The deadline for the pre-application was April 24, 2023, at 5:00pm. Pre-applications are no longer accepted.
- Do you send a confirmation when the pre-application has been received?
- An email is sent from NoReply@trustcentral.org when a determination of eligibility has been made.
- Good afternoon, I just submitted my pre-application and would like to know the turn around time to receive approval to submit the full application? Thank you,
- Pre-Applications are reviewed for eligibility at least daily on business days.
- How can our organization receive verification that the pre-application was received and processed. It does not appear in "My Applications" following submission.
- A notice is sent to the applicant regarding eligibility after each pre-application is reviewed.
- How can I upload the required financial documents after being denied?
- If eligibility was based on incomplete information or an input error, you may initiate another pre-application and upload the required documents. The new pre-application will then be reviewed to determine if your organization is eligible to apply for the grant.
- We currently have a Trust-funded program that will end on August 11. Will will still be eligible for this grantP
- The Small CBO Capacity Building contract is scheduled to start October 1. Therefore, your agency would be eligible as an agency "with previous (but no current) Trust board-approved contracts" as per page 2 of the PDF of the RFP.
- Does the organization have to be headquartered in Miami-Dade County or does providing services in MDC qualify us to apply?
- As per the RFP: The agency's core mission must address the needs of children and families in Miami-Dade County.
- We submitted our 2022 audit, but can we submit our 2023 budget to include In-kind what we sent did not include In- Kind. We definitely want for you to reconsider us for Capacity Building. Can we resubmit pre application?
- If an organization was deemed as Ineligible after a preapplication review due to missing information or errors as given in the reason for the eligibility decision, the organization can submit another preapplication.
- how can i ask for a grant
